I want you to know I am very grateful for everything you did for me. From the moment we met I just thought you “got me” with the non-wedding-wedding , no-white, no-cliche’s. It was peak silly season and I changed my mind so many times – you took it in your stride. There was a lot of judgement for us, especially me, about eloping and not inviting anyone but seeing your other couples and everything you said made me feels so much better.
The day was everything that we wanted, chilled, about us, no drama-llama’s and we are so happy. You really are the elopement-guru.

We’d heard Louise described as the Fairy Godmother of Weddings, and we can certainly vouch for her magic! But we thought of her magical quality more as The Mary Poppins of Weddings.
From the very first video call months ago to the 11th hour on our wedding night, she made everything practically perfect in every way. She rose to the challenge of finding us the perfect venue for a fully vegan wedding, and she immediately understood the mood we were going for and had the most incredible eye for decor-details.
She took the reins with all the fiddly little admin things that would have weighed us down, which gave us loads more time to focus on the parts of the day that we were the most excited about. The suppliers that she chose for us weren’t only brilliant at what they do, but they also perfectly suited our personalities.
The more we got to know Louise, the more we realised that this is no coincidence. She treats all of her clients like dear friends, and will work tirelessly to put together a dream team that is unique to every couple.
When comparing our experience to friends who didn’t use a planner, we also saw that she managed to save us a significant amount of money! She’s got excellent connections and she made the most of our budget.
Nearing the wedding day, she gave us regular weather updates and was always just a text away. And on the wedding day, she was cool, calm, collected and so organised! There could have been all sorts of set-backs behind-the-scenes and we wouldn’t have known about them at all. We just showed up and enjoyed the day, with everything going incredibly smoothly.
I have a lovely memory of dancing up a storm with my family on my wedding night, and looking up and catching Louise’s eye. She smiled, gave us a quick friendly goodbye, and left us soaking up all the magic she’d created. Honestly, if I’d seen her flying away with an umbrella, I wouldn’t have been surprised :).

We had the most incredible experience getting married in the Kruger National Park. Louise was fantastic from the initial discussions to making everything a reality. All other suppliers that were recommended were first class. Louise had a brilliant grasp on what we wanted and made everything go incredibly smoothly. My husband and I got married on the 28th of December 2023. We had originally planned a holiday to South Africa, when we came across Runaway Romance and thought we would get in touch and see if Eloping while we were there was an option. I was so pleased to have engaged the services of Runaway Romance. They took the stress out of all the organising and arranging. After lockdowns and restrictions we finally made it to South Africa – only 2 years late!! If it had been down to us to re-arrange suppliers/venues with dates etc. I seriously doubt we would have got there, but RR took all that stress away. The day was about us, having Louise on hand the whole time made it so, we were relaxed, able to focus and enjoy the ‘best day of our lives’. You know, people tend to think that planning weddings aren’t necessarily so stressful that one should hire a planner. This could not be further from the truth. I am in awe of Louise. She made getting married absolutely worth it. Not only was I way more relaxed, but she also found amazing places and suppliers that we definitely would not have found on our own. She had this gut feeling about things and I am utterly grateful that we followed it because our day, was PERFECT! Thinking back it almost feels surreal. Having worked in an industry where we also held weddings at our lodge, it never ever went so smoothly. Or beautiful even – and I’m not only saying that because it was our wedding day. I would recommend her 1000x over!

We are an unconventional and creative couple who did not want a big traditional wedding especially one with a large price tag or overpriced venue. We work a lot and did not want to spend too much time planning; Louise took on most of the planning responsibility which relieved a lot of pressure leading up to our big day. Runaway Romance was good value for money and great customer service! Louise was flexible, kind and open to our sometimes quirky requests. We wanted to get the legal marriage formalities out of the way and a few days before the larger social ceremony and reception. But with the prospect of having to have this done somewhere in Court or at Home Affairs, we lost enthusiasm for this idea, until we came across Louise! Louise came to us at our house and did an intimate ceremony for us in our garden with just close family to serve as witnesses. It was small, intimate but yet so profound, and placed us in good spirits leading up to the more social event lying ahead. What’s more is that Louise then also attended to all the documentation and admin that was required to have our marriage seamlessly registered at Home Affairs. We can highly recommend Louise to do this for you and tailor it to whatever you are ultimately looking for.
