A Destination Elopement in the Cape Winelands

Travelling all the way from England, Hannah and Matt chose to celebrate their love with an intimate vineyard elopement at Molenvliet Vineyards in the heart of South Africa’s beautiful Cape Winelands. After getting engaged in Camps Bay in February 2023, they knew they wanted to return to South Africa for their wedding day — a place that already held such special memories for them as a couple.

Wanting something meaningful, relaxed, and completely centred around the two of them, Hannah and Matt decided on a low-key elopement rather than a large traditional wedding. For them, marriage was never about the spectacle or the expectations often attached to weddings, but rather about celebrating their commitment in an intentional and personal way.

A Perfect Vineyard Wedding 

Surrounded by rolling vineyards, dramatic mountain views, and the peaceful atmosphere of the Stellenbosch countryside, Molenvliet created the dream setting for their elopement. The beauty of the Cape Winelands allowed them to slow down, be fully present, and truly enjoy every moment together.

Their wedding day reflected who they are as a couple — laid-back, adventurous, and deeply connected. Without the pressure of a large guest list or busy timeline, the focus remained entirely on the two of them and the promises they were making to one another.

Hannah and Matt share a love for travel, adventure, and experiencing the world together. Like many couples, their relationship grew even stronger during the uncertainty of Covid, after moving in together just before lockdown. Through all of life’s challenges and adventures, they’ve built a relationship grounded in friendship, support, and choosing each other every day.

Their vineyard elopement in South Africa was the perfect reflection of that love story — intimate, authentic, and full of heart. A reminder that sometimes the most meaningful weddings are the simplest ones.
