Basti & Pia’s grandparents were best friends, and they could’ve unknowingly played together as children. They went to school together as teenagers and became friends and had their first kiss at 16. They’ve been inseparable ever since.
They decided to elope to South Africa, to the Kruger Park, to declare their love to each other, forever.
We drove into the Mjejane Reserve in a game vehicle, looking for the perfect spot for Basti & Pia to get married. We found a beautiful shaded area on the banks of the Crocodile River. The said their vows and exchanged rings under a huge tree. A pod of hippos was relaxing nearby in the river, calling throughout the ceremony.
After the ceremony, they toasted with some South African bubbly. We drove off into the bush to see what animals we could find, – elephants, rhino, hippos and buck to name a few – take some more couple photos and make the most of the gorgeous sunset.
Back at Mjejane River Lodge, a beautiful private table had been set up under a tree covered in fairy lights for them to enjoy a meal as a newly married couple.
They spent the next 2 weeks honeymooning in South Africa, touring the country and enjoying all that our beautiful country has to offer.
